Earlier this year in November, my school gave students the opportunity to take part in the
UK Bebras challenge. In the competition, to my delight, I was able to attain
full marks! What I found really interesting about the competition is that it doesn't require student's to write code but rather test their reasoning and logical skills to solve problems - Beavers' Problems 😆. In the past practice challenges I had noticed that disguised in these Beaver's Problems were core computational problems were core concepts such as
linear search,
binary search,
bubble sort and
shortest path algorithms. These core concepts were explained really nicely in the answers dropdown do each question in the past challenges - I would recommend those who are doing the challenge to
have a look at these explanations as some of them are really interesting!
This journey was so fun and I'm really looking forward to doing the next age category next year!
